While walking past the temples I bring the history of the Maya back to life by telling stories and sharing my knowledge, without it becoming a boring historical visit. The cenotes

Chichén Itzá was built near cenotes. These are freshwater caves, connected by underground rivers, formed in the limestone thousands of years ago. The Maya considered them sacred.

After our visit to Chichén and lunch in Valladolid, we will swim in my favorite cenote. Bring flip flops or water shoes for this part of our experience where we descend into the magical Underworld of the Mayans. The refreshing water will energize us for the rest of the day.

Lunch will be at a restaurant where traditional Yucatec food is being served. You can choose from the menu and try and taste local dishes. I always avoid touristy buffet options to make sure you have an authentic experience.
