The best combination

During this experience, we will combine a visit to beautiful ruins of Tulum early in the morning with the wild nature of the Sian Ka'an. In the Mayan language this means: 'Where the sky is' born. Go with me for the day and you’ll understand why the Maya chose this name!

After getting to know the Tulum ruins we will get back on the road for a short drive. We will find ourselves immersed in the thick tropical jungle of the ancient site of Muyil, nestled on the edge of the freshwater lagoons of Chunyaxche. This place was used as a port by the ancient Maya.

If you prefer a more jungle setting , we can swap the Tulum temples for Muyil, a lesser known Mayan ruin. This option includes a peaceful walk through tropical wetland. I can optimize this experience for you.

Sian Kaán

After a short walk, our adventure continues with a boat ride across the lagoons of Chunyaxche and to an ancient control post in the middle of nowhere. You are now in the heart of Sian Ka’an, and everywhere you look you will see turquoise lagoons, mangroves, savannah: an infinite view of nature. It's time to freshen up a bit by jumping in this crystal-clear water. Before you know it, you will float along the slow current enjoying the peace and quiet of a natural lazy river surrounded by orchids, bromeliads and impressive views.

Today we explore temples, walk through exuberant vegetation and wetlands, enjoy amazing cliffside views in Tulum, ride a boat over lagoons, float in a lazy river in the heart of Sian Ka'an.

During the day we will have brunch or lunch at my favorite Mexican taco restaurant.

If you really love nature there is an option to continue the boot tour after the floating experience to look for crocodiles, manatees, ospreys and other species of birds. We can never guarantee they will show up, but that is the beauty of wild nature. We will also have time to explore a beautiful hidden beach.
