In the middle of a lagoon, surrounded by palo mulato trees, a secret floating garden of lush plants and protected exotic wildlife lies in the jungle - waiting to be explored by you.
The hidden treasure
The name of this hidden treasure is El Corchal, named after the beautiful cork trees which intertwined roots form the base of this floating part of the woods.
Upon entering the area, you will feel like being in a different world; almost as if you’d stepped into a fairy tale.
A magical place
El Corchal is a small area with a large variety of orchids, epiphytes, and water lilies. This magical place is ideal to venture into nature and discover a rich ecosystem that inhabits thousands of species.
A local guide from Solferino will take us to El Corchal in his offroad vehicle for a 40-minute ride through a landscape that changes from grassland to jungle to wetland. The last part of the trip will continue by foot so that we can share our knowledge of the local flora and fauna with you. Once we arrive at the lagoon, kayaks are waiting for us to start exploring this special part of the Yucatan peninsula.
