COBA & MAYAN COMMUNITY'S EXPERIENCE

Our day will start early morning with a visit to the Coba ruins and a bike ride through the jungle.

Coba and its tropical forest will steal your heart (as they’ve done with mine!) as most of the temples still lay untouched under lush vegetation which gives you a sensation of being in a lost city.

Mayan towns

After Coba our journey leads us to several smaller Mayan towns where we can stop to interact with people, learn about Mayan bees and honey, herbal medicine, see how a hammock is being made, and even take a refreshing swim in a cenote, an underground cave.

Eventually we will stop in a very small rural community called Laguna Chabela: a unique place where we will enjoy a local culinary and cultural experience, provided by a Maya family. They live off grid in the middle of the Yucatan peninsula where food is eaten in the traditional Mayan gourd, flavors are natural, and colors so bright, that it is a feast for both your taste buds and eyes. The family will be more than happy to teach you about traditional cooking, and daily life in this part of Mexico.

Go for a unique experience and enjoy an encounter with the real Mexico, away from the crowds.
