I am more than just a guide. My name is Kristel, Belgian by birth with a Mexican heart, and I have lived and worked in this beautiful country for 28 years. While others opt for large groups and standard excursions, I do things completely differently with La Belgicana. I design small-scale, deeply authentic private experiences for travelers who want to see the real Mexico far beyond the average beach holiday.

With me, you have total freedom to shape your day. Nature, culture, gastronomy, and archaeology: these are all elements you can endlessly combine—or skip entirely if they don’t suit your style. Whether you want a day dedicated entirely to pure nature and hidden jungle trails, or prefer a striking combination of ancient archaeology set deep within the wild jungle, everything is completely up to you.

Of course, we visit the region’s famous landmarks, but we do it smartly. By starting early, we skip the long lines and beat the crowds. This allows you to experience the most beautiful sites in complete peace and privacy with your own companions, long before the tour buses arrive. As an officially certified archaeological and nature guide, I make sure the history and wildlife come alive at a relaxed pace.

There is never any rush along the way; there is always time to stop for a local coffee, a fresh coconut in a small village, or fresh mango with chili by the roadside. Instead of crowded tourist traps, we sit down for lunch at unique, local spots that I have personally discovered over the last three decades.

I also believe it is essential that our outings leave a positive footprint. We visit authentic Maya communities, directly supporting the local economy of the people who live there. This is all about slow travel and enjoying a genuine, unhurried experience with the people you care about most, fully customized to your wishes.
